Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall.....

I don't know about you but I have to get my house into the "fall spirit"!

The air is crisp, the heat is on, I'm tempted to crawl back into bed...Oh wait, I have to go to work!
Before I go, I wanted to leave you with some beautiful images of fall to motivate you
to get your "fall party" started if you haven't already!

The front door is a perfect place to start with beautiful mums and gourds
Try picking a color that compliments your house...

Go out to your local farmer's market, load your car with pumpkins and gourds and pile on your porch
for instant fall decorations with very little effort (dog optional, although he does add a nice touch!)..

The perfect solution for those empty planters.  If you add soil and keep them watered the boxwood will stay fresh through Thanksgiving.  You don't have to fill the entire planter, you can stuff the bottom with a box and sit a container on top of the box and fill with soil for your greenery.  If you don't want to bother with the greenery, these would also look great with moss spilling out around the edges of the pumpkins.   Add some curly willow and nuts for another touch!

Paint your door a fall color!  It's an easy change and you can repainted it once fall is over so you have a fresh door for Christmas.  I know my door gets lots of damage so a fresh coat of paint is always welcomed! I just might be tempted to paint my front door orange... after all we are Auburn and Bears Fans...

This front porch has items that will last throughout the fall.  I am always tempted to decorate for Halloween but then I am scrambling to get something up for Thanksgiving.  With this display you are covered for both!  Most craft stores carry grapevine pumpkins. These ravens add a fun, creepy touch!  The lanterns can be found at Pottery Barn or places like Garden Ridge for cheaper versions.  The leaf garlands are fun around the door, but you can also wrap them around a wreath form to make a wreath as shown.

Setting your table with accent salad plates is another way to add a festive touch to your home.  Plates like these are easily found anywhere from  Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Pier One,Target, and Pottery Barn    Add real pumpkins or ceramic pumpkins along with votives, nuts, leaves and twigs for a simple centerpiece.

Love the simple look of this wreath!  The burlap ribbon, moss and pumpkins signal fall  has arrived without breaking the bank!  All you need to make this wreath is a wreath form, bag of moss, florist wire, pumpkins(fake or real) and the burlap!  Hot glue the moss on the form, wire the pumpkins on, tie the burlap and you are good to go!  This could be created with a grapevine wreath as well.

How fun is this wreath?  Loops and loops of fall ribbon interspersed with glitter leaves and  cute little fall lettering....  To find out how to make the loops, click here!   The options are endless!

If you want to make something a little more involved, try your hand at a wreath with dried
nuts, pinecones and pods.  Add fresh greenery to give it dimension and color.

Carve your initial or your house number in pumpkins and sit on your porch in an attractive way...

Another fun idea is to create a colorful display with painted pumpkins... the pumpkins can be painted with spray paint or acrylic paints with brushes.   If you want to make them more durable, spray them with polyurethane to seal.  It  brings out the paint colors, create a shiny finish and protects your pumpkins.

Here are some other ways fun and creative ways to paint pumpkins.

Colorful cats.... these would be fun to make with your children...

These pumpkins were my favorite, I like the addition of the ribbon on the shoes,
after all you know it's all about how you accessorize, isn't it?
