In Lisa's Words...
I have always had a passion for design.  As a child,  I spent many hours designing houses for my dolls.   Ironically when I went off to college, my passion was sidetracked by Fashion Design.  My original degree was in Home Economics/Business/Art because a 4 year degree in Interior Design wasn't offered at my school during those days.  When I was in my thirties, I found myself creating homes for friends, and that is when I decided to I returned to college to pursue interior design!
For the past 16 years, I have worked as a residential designer in the southeast with my home base being Charlotte,NC
In 2009, my life changed forever when I lost my oldest son, Walker, in a kayaking accident.  I closed my practice and didn't think I would ever work again.  During grieving, I spent many hours alone, pondering the trials of life.  I had no desire to circulate in public.  It was during my darkest hours spent alone, that I decided to start my blog as a way to satisfy my need to create, reconnect to people and my passion for interior design.  The blog became a place to share creative ideas, as well as explore design with my readers.

I have a great husband and 4 great children, a dog named Oliver.  My life isn't perfect, but I feel lucky to do what I love.  I thank God for the ability to be creative and am happiest when I can use my talents to make other's lives better.
