Inspiration....

Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of days, I've had a migraine that just wouldn't go away.
I haven't felt much like being on the computer, but today as I was lying in bed with my heating pad on my head, I was thinking of all kinds of things I wanted to share with you.     Today I wanted to talk a little about inspiration.  As a designer, I always look for something to inspire me when starting a new project.  It can come from many different resources, nature, fabrics, books, magazines, art, online, current or past designers.  I took a lot of art classes in design school and always found that I could only paint if inspired by something.   I wonder where most artist get their inspiration?  Here's a thought if you have been toying with the idea of painting something....

What if you picked all your favorite colors and just began throwing them on a blank canvas?
You could make it anything you wanted.  If you didn't like how it turned out you could repainted and start over til it becomes what you want it to be.  It could be swirls, or strong brush strokes.  It could be pin dots or dabs.  Each color could stand alone or gently mix with the surrounding colors.  It would be whatever you wanted it to be to represent your life.

It could be called "your Life painting"...

When you feel frozen in your tracks, just look at your painting and remind yourself that all you really have to do is begin and often times, things just become what
they are suppose to be on their own...

What do you think about this?  Would this be fun?  What would your "Life Painting" look like?

Here are some of my favorite paintings I have found online recently...

  1. The pink/purple/gold canvas is beautiful. Some day I would love to do something like this in different colors. Hope you are feeling better.
