I just returned from High Point Market and boy do I have lots to share about my trip!
One new resource I discovered with Sauder Furniture. I had the pleasure of being shown the collection by one of the lead designers and their marketing team. Kevin Sauder, President and owner of Sauder came out to introduce himself as well. My daughter is moving in a couple of weeks so I have been in the market for affordable furniture options for her. Sauder offers great products at affordable pricing. The chic tower etagere from the Soft Modern Collection in orange and priced at $189 retail, will be featured in Elle Decor later this year. Isn't the tower etagere great looking? I was blown away by the plethora of amazing products which look much more expensive than their retail price.
On the Sauder website the copy reads
"It's more than a brand it's an American Tradition"
Furniture Made in the USA!!!
Are you familiar with Sauder? If not, let me first tell you it is pronounced "Sow-der", like "Chowder". The company was started in 1934 by Erie Sauder. It began as a woodworking business in a barn in his backyard in Archbold, Ohio. Mr. Sauder originally built church pews and custom cabinetry. He later began to make small accent table from the leftover wood. In 1940, a fortuitous incident occurred when a traveling salesman spied the table and placed an order for 25,000 pieces. The company grew and in 1953, Mr Sauder patented a table that set the industry on its ear. It was a table that could be assembled at home. I know you are asking yourself why I'm excited about furniture that has to be assembled aren't you? This invention not only cut shipping costs, but costs across the board making furniture that can fit even the smallest budget. Sauder Furniture is the first ready-to-assemble (RTA) in the industry. The rest is history. Today, Sauder is a privately held third generation family owned business.
The collections offered range from contemporary and transitional to traditional cottage styles. Sauder has paid attention to the needs of the consumer and create furniture to fit a multitude of needs such as furniture scaled for apartment and loft living, bathrooms, garages, bedroom, home office and more.
Take these great looking Storage cabinets for example. Wouldn't these look fabulous
