Julia Buckingham's New Collection for Global Views

The mirrors in this foyer by Julia Buckingham have haunted me ever since I first saw them in her portfolio.  I knew better than to ask Julia about them she because she typically uses antiques or custom, "one of a kind" pieces in her projects which is why her work is so interesting.  I thought the mirrors were stunning.  They look like the starburst mirrors that were created from antique religious objects.  Very unique. 

I was thrilled to learn that Julia was including a similar mirror in her new collection for Global Views.  

 

This Pendant Mirror is part of the much anticipated Julia Buckingham Collection for Global Views Colleciton which debuted in Dallas this week at the Dallas Market.  The Chicago based interior designer, has turned the design world on ear with the initial 62 piece offerings from the collection.  The complete collection will be shown in the Global Views Showroom during the High Point Market in October.   Known for her 'Modernique" Style, Julia has a gift at marrying furniture from different periods, styles and aesthetics together to create interesting rooms.  She is a designer,collector and a shop owner who scowers the world for interesting finds. Now with the release of this collection we all benefit from her keene eye.

Celerie Kemble for Lane Venture

 Celerie Kemble hit the ball out of the park with her new line for Lane Venture.

Her outdoor collection for Lane Venture includes more than 50 items designed by Kemble utilizing a variety

 of outdoor materials and techniques.    I would describe the collection as "Palm Beach meets Hollywood"

 outdoor chic. The designs are timeless with close attention to details which include pretty quatrefoils and scallops.   

Celerie, herself, served as our guide in the showroom for the collection.  It was

 interesting to see the furniture through the eyes of the visionary who created it. 

 Her passion for the collection was effervescent.   

In Celerie's words, "The collection marries the comfort and sophisticated design

 sensibility she expects of interior furniture with the technical and practical functions

 needed for outdoor."

Pulaski Furniture

One of my stops at High Point Market this coming week will be to see Pulaski Furniture. 

I love High Point Market because I get to see the new furniture introductions from my favorite companies up close and personal.  This market I will be sourcing furniture for several new clients one of which is my daughter who is moving into a new house.  She is looking for what she calls "grown up" furniture, but we have to keep budget in mind.  I think Pulaski might be just the ticket for a couple of new pieces to make her new pad sing.  Are you familiar with Pulaski Furniture?  {click here to continue reading....}

Harrison Blackford, Newest Artist in Studio 202 Gallery!!!!

I posted this picture four days ago on instagram just to tease you but I was the one who got the joke played on me.  So many of you wrote to ask me about this piece of art.  I am happy to announce that artist Harrison Blackford has joined Studio 202 as an artist in our studio gallery!  I actually corresponded with Harrison over 2 years ago but we finally met in person when she dropped off paintings last week to our new studio gallery.  We currently have 8 of Harrison's beautiful paintings in the studio in a range of sizes and colors!!!  Would you believe that Harrison is actually an interior designer by trade?  She jumped ship about two years ago and decided to paint full time.  If you would like to learn more about Harrison click here.  We can commission Harrison to paint size painting in any colors to match your fabrics or decor.
