1. Global Views newly expanded showroom is stunning from what I am hearing!  Located in A1 Central West Lobby of the Las Vegas Design Center. Encompassing more than 100 products, the new Julia Buckingham for Global Views Collection celebrates the journey of design and encourages people to not just decorate, but to curate their spaces in a personal and meaningful way. The collection includes a selection of furniture, lighting, rugs, tabletop and home accessories by the Chicago-based designer.

Remember the blue and white dishes I used in the Traditional Home High Point Show house on the lucite shelves on the sink wall?   I have had so many of you writing and asking about them, so here you go!  Here are the details and where to find them!

South African artist Ruan Hoffmann, known for combining

 modern art with traditional crafsmanship created a spectacular

 collection for Anthropologie that I used in the Traditional Home

 Show house kitchen I designed last April.   I knew I wanted blue

 and white dishes in the kitchen and when I saw the collection at Anthropologie from Hoffmann it was just the style I wanted to

 portray in my space.  The collection was rooted in classic blue

 and white colors but the style was artistic, organice

 and modern.

This collection is what I call "usable art".  It adds an artistic touch to a kitchen but is usable at the same time.  How nice would it be to start your morning off with a cup of coffee in a cup that has L-O-V-E in the bottom.  Entertain friends in afternoon with a nice cup of tea or display on a shelf for a beautiful touch of blue and white with a glimmer of gold.


The Johannesburg artist was first discovered by the keene eye of the Anthropologie team when he was featured in the Rockefeller Center store gallery.  All the pieces are collectibles as the collection will continue to grow in value as the pieces sell out.

One of my favorite finds at High Point this spring was Lacefield Designs new outdoor pillow collection.  I have used their line for several years and find the quality impeccable. While I love their line of indoor pillows, I am absolutely crazy about about their new outdoor collection.

I had a great experience participating in the Traditional Home and Junior League of High Point Show House.  The ladies of the High Point Junior League and staff from Traditional Home worked hard to make our jobs as designers in the house as painless as possible.   I could not have done my job as a designer if it had not been for my fabulous room sponsors.  One of my sponsors was Dash and Albert Rugs.

Pearls of Wisdom 01.25.2015

I'm having a photo shoot this afternoon and have been busy getting everything planned.  Many years ago a wise older friend shared a little advice with me that she felt had served her well through her years.  This lady was a person I admired for many reasons.  She was a leader in her community, a savvy business woman and knew how to get things done.  Her advice was "to always remember in life, it is the meeting before "the meeting" that counts."

That's a lot of style for a little money, don't you think?  I can think of a gazillion places this etagere would look dynamite.

I love these pieces too.  The shelf comes in blue and yellow.  The multi cart comes in blue, yellow, white, grey and red.
