Let's "Chip It" to find a Paint Color!

We all know how difficult picking out paint colors can be.  It looked great in the magazine
but somehow it just doesn't look the same once we get it home and on our walls.
Now there is an easier way than relying on the paint store guy to figure out the perfect color!

Announcing  "Chip It" with Sherwin Williams!

This new app by Sherwin Williams is as easy as using Pinterest!  The concept is the same.  All you do is  Click Here and download the "click it" button to your toolbar.  When you want to find the paint colors in a room online  just  "click it"  and it will give you a color palette like the one  below!  The app generally picks up the base colors in the room, but if there is an accent color it will add those in the extended palette of up to 10 colors.  Just click the "more colors" arrow at the bottom to see all the options.  It's really fun!  Try it and let me know if you what you think.

This is what you will get...

Here is another room...

If there are only a couple of colors in a room it will give you co-ordinating colors as well

If you are wondering what colors are in a piece of art it will tell you that too just as it did with this Kirra Jamison painting below

It also works for fabrics, if you want to pull a paint color out of the design.
This is where the extended palette comes in so make sure to click on the
"more colors" option when looking at fabrics.

Always remember nothing is foolproof.  You may have to tweak the colors due to the light in your room , furniture, flooring, and other considerations, but this will give you a color close to what you are seeing online.  It is always a good idea to call in an expert if you aren't sure.  One hour of consulting is cheaper than painting a whole room the wrong color.
