Before and After - Adamsleigh Manor and a Winner of the Barr-Co Products!!!!!

Remember the gentleman's dressing room Traci Zeller and I
designed for the "Adamsleigh"  Traditional Home Showhouse.

I was reorganizing my photos and found the before shots we took

of the room and thought it would be fun to share.

We all love a good before and after don't we?  HGTV has spoiled the consumer into thinking that those transformations happen magically which simply isn't true.   This room is a result of detailed planning, great craftsmanship, beautiful products and complete supervision by a couple of designers who take pride in keeping tight timelines so that
things go as smoothly as possible.

Click here to continue on to see the before and afters...

Let's take a look at the before....

and here is the after of the same shot....

  A major difference, right?

The biggest eye sore in the room was the built-in shower
that we knew we had to work around because there
wasn't time to have it redesigned.  We
decided the best option was to camouflage it.

We had our installer, Mike Barclift and expert workroom friend, Donna Stanley of JD Stanley in High Point help us design a screen that
totally covered the shower.  We had Sarah and Ruby Studios who
helped us custom design the wallpaper, also print our design
on fabric so we could cover the screen and make it feel like
part of the room.

Before.....

After.....

Our drapery workroom, Custom Home Window Treatments
Created this custom cornice which covered the window from

ceiling to floor.  Our Century side table was the perfect compliment

for this area and held items needed for
dressing for the man of the house.

We had a nice little corner for our CR Laine Aledo Chair
and Circa Lighting "Ralph Lauren" Lamp.

Before.....

After.....

We love and adore this Century malachite chest;

Sally King Benedict Painting loaned from Hiddell Brooks Gallery and

Shelves before....

The closet shelves after....

We had JD Stanley upholster and nailhead the shelves,

added Thibaut wallpaper on the back wall and filled them
 with interesting objects.

The lighting before.....

The lighting after.....

We loved the CJ Weinstein 1931 Art Deco chandelier

loaned to us by Modernaire.

The wallpaper was custom made by Sarah and Ruby Studios.
We took the original architectural drawings of the house and
had wallpaper made from the drawings by Sarah and Ruby.
They were such a dream to work with, as a matter of fact
I think we had the dream team with all of our suppliers.

This room was all about the details.  We took advantage of the fact that the room was small, so we went all out with details. We trimmed the room
with bright green grosgrain ribbon and large antique brass
nailheads.

Leontine Linens appliqued beautiful towels to match
the room with JH Adams monogram.

Every inch of the room was addressed.  We
even wallpapered the ceiling with this handsome
Thibaut wallpaper that looked like a man's suit fabric!

Let's take another look of the before....

 And here is the after....

What do you think?  Do you have a room that needs
transforming?

We took the history of the house as our inspiration, added
in some modern details and color, and voila
the perfect modern day dressing room for
 the gentleman, oui?

Ok, so I'm a little tardy in announcing the winner for the
Barr-Co Products from Percy Clark Home so here goes....
