Celerie Kemble for Lane Venture

Celerie Kemble hit the ball out of the park with her new line for Lane Venture.
Her outdoor collection for Lane Venture includes more than 50 items designed by Kemble utilizing a variety
of outdoor materials and techniques.    I would describe the collection as "Palm Beach meets Hollywood"
outdoor chic. The designs are timeless with close attention to details which include pretty quatrefoils and scallops.

Celerie, herself, served as our guide in the showroom for the collection.  It was
interesting to see the furniture through the eyes of the visionary who created it.
Her passion for the collection was effervescent.

In Celerie's words, "The collection marries the comfort and sophisticated design
sensibility she expects of interior furniture with the technical and practical functions
 needed for outdoor."

Don't we all need a little, happy "scallop" in our lives?  The powder
coated aluminum collection comes in several soft colors, as well as navy.

Celerie said she plans to have these scallop tables at her own house.  She likes
to bunch the tables together to create larger tables.  How versatile to bunch together
to make a larger impact and then separate as needed separately by a chair.

She also pointed out the star table as a favorite for outdoors and indoors.

The star cushions are great for topping the table or using as floor pillows.

Here the star ottoman is used as a table along with the wave accent table.
The star table is large, but it doesn't overwhelm the settee.

This grouping includes the powder coated aluminum scallop tables in the navy.
Also shown are great swivel chairs which add a sculptural, organic element to the area.

Celerie said this collection was the next generation design from a line her mom,
Mimi McMackin originally designed for Lane Venture years ago, therefore she
wanted to honor her mom by naming this collection after her.  The green and white
stripe is so crisp and fresh with the wicker frames.  Scale and detail are perfection!

Beautiful details.

The back of the furniture is as pretty as the front, which is so important
outdoors where furniture is often approached from every angle.

This grouping brings a little of the Carribean to the room with the aqua stripes
and casual design of the furniture.

Celerie loves the wood tile collection she designed in partnership with
Mirth StudiosShe has the tiles under several of the groupings as rugs.
To see more of the collection click here. She talked about how easy it was
to create these rugs for the show room.  The tiles are installed on a carpet pad
and then bordered with a mitered wooden
border.  Very attractive and very durable.

The line also offers a sectional with a powder coated aluminum frame
with cushions available in several fabric and color options.
( Note another Mirth Studio rug.)

This coral and white grouping greeted us as we entered the showroom.

All that is needed here is an umbrella drink and a couple of
chatty friends to be the perfect spot for a beautiful
 outdoor visit by the pool.

The coral and white stripe is brighter than my photography is showing.
The light is washing the color and making it appear more peach, but it is a bold
coral and white.  I love the wavy side table.  I would use that indoors
 in a nanosecond.

This chair is a little wider for extra lounging space.

See what I mean?  It is as pretty from the front as the back!

Ok, I ask you...are you not just dying?  Who doesn't want
to sit in the sun under this precious bonnet?

The "Wave Collection" is available also in dining options, not just as
accent pieces. The outdoor dining tables and chairs are a perfect compliment
to the seating groups.  Not too "matchy matchy" but exactly what is needed
to create the perfect outdoor living environment of elegance and comfort.

The chairs are sturdy and ample with timeless design
 elements incorporated.

This "Wave Collection also offers a round table which is perfect with
four chairs and an umbrella.   This collection is another grouping I would
consider using indoors for a sunroom or breakfast room
 sans the umbrella of course.

The giant clamshell on a stand is a must have for every patio!
Can't you imagine it filled with ice, ready to serve your favorite
bottles or cans of beverages?

At the end of our tour, I asked Celerie what was most challenging
about designing an outdoor collection and she answered with a very
interesting answer by lifting up the bottom of one of the wave accent
tables to show the interior construction of the piece.

Celerie said translating indoor furniture ideas to outdoor products was where she had to reply on the Lane Venture design team.  They understand what works for outdoors and how we have to achieve the proper quality for outdoor wear and tear.  Celerie said "I told the design team I wanted wavy furniture" and they looked at me perplexed and said "do you know how complicated that is."  She admitted she really had no idea what they meant at the time, but later once the pieces were produced, the amount of engineering that went into making her request a reality became clear. She said that is the amazing thing about the Lane Venture team, they didn't give up. They made it happen!  Lane Venture products are not simply well-designed, they are well-built. Their frames are built with great attention to enduring construction and fine detail.
