  1. Happy New Year Lisa!

I feel a tag guilty entering to attend Design Camp in Atlanta as I was lucky enough to attend in Austin. I can say from experience it was truly a wonderful design education. I ave been actively working in design for almost 20 years and I still took away so much from Design Camp. Ronda Carmen, Susanna Salk and Bill Indursky blew me away with their knowledge.
But, here I go... I would love to attend again to have the opportunity to learn from Clinton Smith and Leslie Newsom Rascoe, super talented editors, as well as catch up with Lori and Kelli. Those two are amazing and gracious hosts who are so warm and endearing they make you feel like long lost friends.

    Hope to see you there!

    xoxo-

    Holly

  16. Hello Lisa,
I would so love to win a spot at Atlanta's Design Camp! After deciding to pursue a career change into the world of interior design, I'm planning in the new year to put that change into action. Attending Design Camp would really be an enormous push in the right direction toward helping me achieve my goal to one day start my own business by offering invaluable knowledge. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

  17. Interesting. I have been studying a lot about yacht design lately for the purpose of incorporating the storage features into my design projects so I am most excited about sitting under someone who actually designs yachts!

  19. Hi Lisa! Thanks to Jackie Fraasa and you, I now know about this awesome opportunity to learn from the pros. I am familiar with Lori Dennis, and appreciate her eco -friendly approach to a lot of her projects. Also a west coast designer that's not afraid to use color is refreshing. My small design company, started last year is off to a good start, but with any new business there are growing pains. I am eager to hear from the experts on many design ideas and obstacles. Hope to see you in Atlanta! Best, Toni Stone Carter

    2. Hi Lisa, Happy New Year to you too! Things are good. We just got back from California spending the holidays with family. Pollard & Stone, Inc. keeps is steady, but being mom to Noah keeps me more steady - which I am sure you can relate. Loving my experience in the design world so far -- making some really good connections with showrooms in the Mart as well as ADAC. Try to make some extra time to come visit "us" (Jackie, Kip, Hans...) in our "hood" when you are in Atlanta! Fingers crossed I will be attending with :)

  20. Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the encouragement! The discussion I would most like to learn about at Design Camp is Contracts- successful strategies for negotiations with contractors, vendors, and clients. I think this is something that as a prospective designer I would have the most trouble with in terms of developing a system that works well and is efficient. -Jaime Arvon-Jones

  21. Hi Lisa,
This is probably just what I need. I am retiring from my "real" job in February. I do not live in a part of the world that is known for design, so meeting these people and learning from them would be so wonderful.

  26. Good evening Lisa, I'm throwing my hat into the ring one final time to try and win a spot at Design Camp! I'd additionally love to learn about branding, career design blogging, and online portfolios. It think these three really tie into each other. From reading about other women owned design businesses, it seems these things combined help bring traffic to designer's websites and/or blogs, and ultimately it makes for a great set of marketing tools for establishing clientele.
P.S. I've only entered through the blog.
